REVIEW QUOTES

 width="128"
 height="110" />

"SR seem to have the gift of bringing hi-fi quality to sound reinforcement. Certainly all the products tested so far from this company are in a class of their own and any gigging musician should try them out and and compare them with a usual PA system. Although the initial price is more than one usually pays for keyboard amplification, when compared with quality hi-fi equipment it is quite moderate. My bet is that once heard, most will opt for the SR units every time."

"The SR Live system would make an ideal set-up for a band that needed their own high quality PA or for a small venue that needs something that can be moved around easily. The great quality sound also make it spot on for mobile DJing as a portable system - it easily fits in the back of a car so no problems there. The SR system is a workhorse and would be a fine investment."

"The proof of the pudding, in this case, is of course the sound. Just like the other SR speakers we have tested, the Club 60A speakers refuse to distort or alter the sound in any way. They project the full frequency range of whatever sound was put through them and in each test worked perfectly. They were tested with a variety of keyboards including a stage piano and self-accompaning instruments. Finally they were used as studio monitor speakers for a recording session, replacing the studio speakers in the control room. In each case the sound was clear and true to the original across the whole frequency range and in the studio there was no noticeable difference between the specialist studio monitors and the SR units."

"So is it a seriously small scale PA or a guitar combo?. The honest answer is both, with all the benefits that implies. If you’re a guitarist with no live sound experience than experimenting with the Jam 150 most likely will be a bit of an odd experience at first. but thats no barrier to the eventual advantages you’ll gain by picking up on the nuances of what the Jam 150 can do for you. The trick is not to think of it as an amp as such, but more as SR technology itself describe it: “ a compact audio system “ combining the best of both worlds. check out SR Tech’s take on the product and you quickly realise that its the result of an aspiration to distil their big sound reinforcement rigs into a truly portable, one-man system. It’s also notable that the companies first stop when testing the viability of the product was a meeting of top acoustic guitarists all of whom raved about it. It might not be the traditional combo that you’re used to but it does the job and more besides, principally because it hasn’t been designed by a traditional combo manufacturer."
